Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing: This is a course that I have personally taken myself and I highly recommend it to all bloggers. The woman who created this course earns over $50,000 a month through affiliate marketing. In the course she shares her exact strategy and tips on how to earn an income with affiliate marketing. It is super informative and offers a lot of tools and resources to get you going as a successful blogger. If you’re a blogger (even if you’re a new blogger!), then you NEED this course.
Photoshop: I am fairly certain that I could not live without Photoshop. I use it for everything I do on my website and in my daily life. For me it is just one of those programs that is constantly running on my desktop. It does have a pretty fierce learning curve but once you get the hang of it I am sure you won’t be able to go without it. The design possibilities are endless with Photoshop. There are so many tutorials out there to get you going too, it’s absolutely worth learning.
PicMonkey: If the idea of using Photoshop is just too daunting you are going to love PicMonkey! I use PicMonkey a lot when I am away from home or on my laptop and I need to work on image designs for my websites. PicMonkey is super user friendly and easy to learn. It is a free web based image design program that allows you to create beautiful custom images without all of the design knowledge needed with Photoshop. You can also purchase a membership plan for as low as $3.99/month which gives you access to all our their premium features and fonts. It is a great program for an artist at any level. I love PicMonkey!
Creative Market: Looking for some really cute photos for your site but just don’t have the time or energy to create them yourself? Creative Market is a platform for handcrafted, mousemade design content from independent creatives around the world. Creative Market is the best source for creative web content. I have purchased several fonts from Creative Market as well as the template for my website. A great bonus that Creative Market offers their subscribers is weekly free goods! I look forward to seeing my freebies every week.
MyFonts: I am a font addict, I have over 1,000 fonts on my main desktop computer. So I obviously know where to get the best fonts. Besides Creative Market, MyFonts has some of the best paid fonts out there. I know what you are wondering, why pay for fonts when you can find so many free ones out there. Don’t get me wrong I love free fonts and a good portion of my fonts have been free. But sometimes you just need that one special font that you can’t find for free. I promise you that MyFonts has anything you could possibly be looking for. As a blogger and web designer you are always looking for that perfect font to wow with your images. Sometimes the only way to find the best of the best is to pay for it. I don’t mind paying for a font because I know I am supporting other designers just like myself.
TemplateMonster: Over the years as a web designer I have tried many different website templates. Most of my favorite templates have come from Creative Market and TemplateMonster. TemplateMonster has over 25,000 different website templates to choose from within a ton of different categories. They are very user friendly and easy to install. If you are new to blogging or want to start a website of your own I recommend trying a website template, it will make your life a lot easier.
Ebates: My number one way to make extra money is with Ebates. It’s really a no brainer and it’s too easy not to use. There are two ways to use Ebates that I find to be the most helpful. First is by downloading the Ebates Cash Back Button for your desktops toolbar. When you visit a website Ebates will automatically pop up a notification on the top right hand side of your screen notifying you that there is an Ebate available for whatever site it is you are shopping on. When you click “activate” Ebates automatically logs your purchase and starts saving you money for your “Big Fat Check”. Those payments are then paid quarterly in the form of a PayPal deposit, check by mail, or you can donate your savings to your favorite charity, organization or family member. If you do a lot of shopping on your tablet or phone you can download the Ebates app. When you want to make a purchase you just open up the Ebates app and search for the website you would like to shop on, and save money. Easy peasy! In the past month alone I have made $62.50 back with purchases I made through Ebates! Shopping in store? Link Ebates to your debit/credit card and watch the savings roll in when you link up their current “in store” offers. You can also find coupon codes offered by Ebates by using the app and the desktop button.
Quicken: I have been using Quicken since we got married in 2005 to budget our expenses and balance our checkbook. I could not live without it at this point. Quicken has made it so easy to track all of our income and expenses and I haven’t had to balance our checkbook on paper for years. I create different savings accounts within my main Quicken account for each of the areas we spend money monthly (ex: Groceries, Gas, Dining Out, Utilities, etc). When we get paid I input our monthly paycheck and split it into each of the savings “buckets” accordingly. That way I know how much “spendable” money I have in our account at all times vs. money that is allotted for our bills.
Quickbooks Self-Employed: Similar to Quicken, I use Quickbooks Self-Employed to track my blogging income and expenses. I like to keep our personal finances separate from my business finances. Quickbooks Self-Employed is a great resource for bloggers who need to keep track of random spending and incoming funds. As a blogger or anyone who is self employed you know that remembering to manage your finances can be a chore. I love that Quickbooks Self-Employed makes this chore a lot easier. And when it comes time to do taxes at the end of the year I can just input all of my information from Quickbooks Self-Employed over to my TurboTax account. Too simple!
Amazon: If you have been following me for a while, you know by know that I am a huge Amazon fan. I do 90% of my shopping on Amazon and have for years. I love instant gratification and free 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime is the best. You can find pretty much anything you are looking for on Amazon and most of the time I find products cheaper on Amazon than I do in the stores. I have a page on my site dedicated to products I have featured on my site that can be found on Amazon, you can check it out here. If you are interested in signing up to try Amazon Prime FREE for 30 days I have a special link for you here. I ❤ Amazon!
